I’ve Been Thinking

Now 83 years old I , like most people often look back and wonder where all the tiem went too – how did I grow from a rather slow young man who’s only real interests were sport and playing the drums and then trombone in Colchester Silver band –  It really took the 2 years national service in the Royal Air Force to knock some sense of self pride into me.

I became involved with local charities in and around Colchester and spent 20 years in the Furniture industry before finally being offered the opportunity of joining a leading Recording Company here in New Zealand, where I have been now for 43 years and have had the good fortune to move into the production side of the businessproducing LP records in those heady days in the early 1970’s.

Now over 40 years later I have the good fortune to remain involved with that same record industry – indeed I have been a lucky man and continue to enjoy the music business – when anybody asks how I went from a 14 year old with no real talent and then enterthis exciting industry I tell them “that it all began with a drum – A Bass Drum!
